Third-person multiplayer shooter Off the Grid has officially launched in early access on Xbox Series X and S, offering players the chance to compete for daily cash prizes.
With the new “Clash for Cash” tournament, players can earn rewards based on in-game performance, marking a shift toward play-to-earn mechanics.
This update, along with additional changes to gameplay and crossplay features, aims to engage the game’s dedicated player base and expand its reach across multiple platforms.
What is Clash for Cash?
Clash for Cash is a new daily tournament that awards the top ten players each day with cash prizes from a $3,000 USD prize pool.
Rankings are determined based on in-game performance, with players earning points through metrics such as match placement, kills, assists, and the extraction of special items known as HEX boxes. Each day at 20:00 UTC, rewards are distributed, with the first-place player receiving $1,000, the second-place player earning $500, and remaining prizes scaling down to $50 for ninth and tenth places.
To participate, players need to link their accounts and claim any winnings within two days. The full tournament rules and current leaderboard standings are accessible on the official Off the Grid website.
What else is new in Early Access?
Alongside the Clash for Cash tournament, Off the Grid introduced new crossplay pools in its latest patch.
Console players on Xbox and PS5 now compete in a separate pool from PC players on Mac and Windows. This change was made to address balance issues, as console players had reported challenges in competing against the faster controls of PC users.
Whilst console and PC players no longer compete directly in matches, they continue to share the game’s marketplace and other in-game features.
