Oct. 14 (CandyPulse) — Strive, one of the fastest-growing bitcoin treasury companies, wants to raise another $500 million, and much of it could end up in bitcoin. The company is planning an offering of a new preferred stock called SATS, according to reports on Oct. 14.
One important point up front: this raise is proposed, not completed.
Key takeaways
Strive would sell 5 million SATS shares at $100 each. The new shares would carry a fixed 15% dividend, which reports say is paid daily.
SATS would rank below Strive's existing preferred stock, SATA, which pays a floating dividend that is currently 13%. To reassure buyers, Strive plans to set aside a reserve equal to the total SATS dividends for the first 18 months after issuance.
| Detail | SATS (proposed) | SATA (existing) |
|---|---|---|
| Size | 5 million shares at $100 ($500M) | Existing preferred |
| Dividend | Fixed 15% | Floating, currently 13% |
| Ranking | Below SATA | Senior to SATS |
| Dividend reserve | First 18 months | — |
Strive says the proceeds could go toward bitcoin, income-generating assets or share repurchases. That flexibility matters, because it means not every dollar raised will necessarily become bitcoin.
The company already holds about 32,773 BTC, worth around $2.7 billion, after buying 3,311 bitcoin the week before.
This is not Strive's only $500 million headline. On Oct. 5, Strive disclosed a separate program to buy back up to $500 million of its SATA preferred. That program is larger than the company's reported $284.7 million cash balance, and the filing gave no spending amount or timetable.
The new SATS offering is a different plan: a raise, not a buyback.
Until the offering is completed, these figures remain plans rather than facts on the balance sheet.
