Ripple Meets Privy: Stripe-Owned Wallet Platform Brings Embedded XRP and RLUSD Wallets to Apps

By · 2026-10-14 · News

Oct. 14 (CandyPulse) — Building a crypto wallet into an app has always been one of the hardest parts of going on-chain. Ripple and Privy, the wallet company owned by Stripe, want to make that problem disappear for the XRP Ledger.

The two companies announced on Oct. 13 that they are bringing embedded wallets to the XRPL. In plain terms, developers can now give their users an XRP Ledger wallet inside their own app, without building the wallet technology themselves.

Key takeaways

What embedded wallets change

Today, most people who want to use crypto in an app have to download a separate wallet, write down a recovery phrase and learn how keys work. That is where many new users give up.

With Privy's embedded wallets, the wallet lives inside the app itself. Users sign in the way they already do, and the app takes care of the wallet in the background. Developers can create and manage XRPL wallets, sign transactions and support XRP, Ripple's stablecoin RLUSD and other assets.

Importantly, users are not locked in. Coverage of the deal says users can still export their private keys and recovery phrases if they want to take their funds elsewhere.

The AI agent angle

The more forward-looking part of the deal is about AI agents. Privy's server-side wallets would let software agents hold funds and pay for services using the x402 payment protocol.

Ripple says the XRP Ledger has already processed 13 million AI agent payments, about 25% of network activity. If that trend continues, giving agents ready-made wallets could become a big deal.

Why the Stripe connection matters

Privy's CEO, Henri Stern, also leads crypto and stablecoins at Stripe. Stripe already runs its own stablecoin business through Bridge. Neither company has said whether Bridge-issued tokens will reach the XRP Ledger through Privy wallets, but the overlap is hard to ignore.

What's next

For developers, the message is simple: adding XRP and RLUSD to an app just got a lot easier.
