Nvidia and Nike Join the Tokenization Pushback as 50 Companies Object to OKXICE Stock Tokens

By · 2026-11-02 · News

Nov. 2 (CandyPulse) — The list keeps growing. Nvidia and Nike are among the latest companies to object to OKXICE offering tokenized versions of their shares, bringing the total number of objecting companies to 50, according to journalist Eleanor Terrett. Just two weeks ago, the count stood at 16.

One caveat: the growing count doesn't necessarily mean 50 of the original 62 companies said no. Some objectors may not have been on the first list.

What OKXICE is trying to do

OKXICE wants to offer tokenized U.S. stocks trading around the clock through permissioned pools on X Layer, OKX's blockchain. Under the SEC's exemption, a company can block a specific third-party tokenized version of its shares by objecting. That doesn't stop normal trading of the stock, and it doesn't rule out the company tokenizing its own shares in future.

Why it matters

Tokenized stocks promise 24/7 markets and faster settlement, but they only work at scale if the biggest companies are on board. Right now, many of them want control over how their shares appear on blockchains. Read our earlier report: Microsoft, Goldman Sachs and Alphabet object to OKXICE, plus OKX and ICE's original filing and you bought the token, do you own the stock?
