On September 25th, we wrote about the Bitget hack in our article: Bitget Hacked: $351.6 Million Drained in Exchange Breach. While the whole withdrawal schedule was unclear, we hoped Bitget would come up with a sustainable solution.
And finally, it was a relief to see an official statement and a concrete withdrawal timetable from Bitget. For anyone holding funds on a centralized exchange when an on-chain incident hits, the silence between a freeze and an update is always nerve-wracking.
Bitget confirmed that the vulnerability behind the September 24 security incident has been identified and patched. More importantly, user balances are safe, the incident is contained, and the platform is bringing withdrawals back online in orderly stages.
The withdrawal freeze was a defensive measure while Bitget's technical team ran extra validation checks on the withdrawal pipeline to ensure zero lingering risks. They were joined by outside cybersecurity heavyweights Mandiant and SlowMist.
User funds are safe: Ledger balances remain untouched, and Bitget’s Protection Fund covers the entire financial impact of the platform-wide breach.
Platform remained active: Deposits and trading continued to run normally throughout the pause.
No further exposure: Unauthorized transfers are fully blocked, and the core vulnerability has been remediated.
To manage traffic and verify on-chain stability at every step, access will reopen across four checkpoints:
Sep 28, 08:00 UTC: Bitcoin (BTC) on the Bitcoin network
Sep 29, 08:00 UTC: Ethereum (ETH) across Ethereum, BSC, Arbitrum, Base, and Optimism
Sep 30, 08:00 UTC: Tether (USDT) across Ethereum, BSC, Solana, and Tron
Oct 2, 08:00 UTC: All other tokens, fiat rails, and P2P services
You don't need to open support tickets or take manual action. Withdrawal options will simply unlock on your dashboard as each phase goes live.
While any security breach is jarring, Bitget's transparent forensic coordination and structured timeline make all the difference in turning a crisis into a controlled, professional recovery. Keep an eye on Bitget’s official channels as each network goes live.
