On Tuesday, McDonald’s shared a brief animated video on Instagram featuring a smiley face, the date “11/18,” and a purple backdrop.
The video includes a McDonald’s hash brown alongside a coffee cup marked “hot contents.” After a pink hand removes the cup, a coffee ring is left behind, forming a smiley face with one eye positioned outside the outline.
The video also includes original audio, with lyrics suggesting “waking up beside you,” leading some to speculate that McDonald’s could be hinting at the return of its all-day breakfast menu whilst other suspect a potential collaboration with Doodles, a popular NFT project.

Following the release of McDonald’s post, trading volume for Doodles NFTs surged significantly.
According to CoinGecko data, trading volume for the collection rose by 565% over a 24-hour period, reaching 766 $ETH. This surge was further fueled by a post from Guillaume Huin, Senior Marketing Director at McDonald’s, who hinted at an upcoming “collaboration” with a “superb fan base,” intensifying speculation around the NFT connection.
The potential link to McDonald’s also led to a 33% increase in the floor price of Doodles NFTs, which rose to 2.71 $ETH within the same 24 hours. The speculation around a possible collaboration with McDonald’s has drawn notable attention within the NFT community.
