Crypto Lobbyists Build $193 Million Fund Targeting Washington Ahead of 2026
Crypto lobbyists are leveraging a $193 million fund to influence Washington, focusing on key political chokepoints for the upcoming 2026 midterms.
Fairshake, along with its associated super PACs, has declared that it possesses a significant cash reserve of over $193 million as the 2026 midterm elections approach. This substantial amount includes $74 million that has been raised since July, primarily from three major donors.
The contributions breakdown includes $25 million from Coinbase, another $25 million from Ripple, and $24 million from the venture capital firm a16z. The coalition formed by Fairshake is complemented by the Protect Progress super PAC, which has a Democratic-leaning orientation.
This strategic financial maneuvering underscores the growing influence of the cryptocurrency sector within the political landscape, as these lobbyists focus on key legislative chokepoints in Washington rather than targeting the broader electorate.
