Kaspa had one of its best days of the year on Friday. According to a September 26 market report from DiarioBitcoin, KAS climbed 17.34% to roughly $0.04684, and it did so on trading volume nearly three times its usual level.
It's worth being clear about what those numbers are: they're the figures recorded in that report on the day, not a live price. Crypto moves fast, and KAS may well be trading somewhere else by the time you read this.
A move backed by real volume
Big percentage jumps happen all the time in crypto, especially in smaller coins. What makes this one stand out is the trading activity behind it.
DiarioBitcoin put KAS's daily trading volume at about $45 million, 187% above its 30-day average. In plain terms, far more people than usual were buying and selling. Traders tend to take a rally more seriously when volume confirms it, because a price rise on thin trading can reverse just as quickly as it arrived.
The same report noted that KAS traded above all of its main moving averages, a common sign of a strong short-term trend.
Why now?
The report pointed to a more favourable regulatory mood for altcoins as the likely backdrop. It's also part of a longer run. DiarioBitcoin has been tracking a string of strong sessions for KAS through September, including a 16% jump on September 19 and several other days of heavy volume.
Kaspa has also had genuine technical news to point to. Its Crescendo upgrade in 2025 raised the network from one block per second to ten, using a structure called a blockDAG that lets blocks be produced in parallel instead of in a single chain. For a proof-of-work network, that's unusually fast, and it has given the project a clear story to tell.
The warning lights
Not everything in the report was bullish. Several indicators suggested KAS was overbought, meaning it had risen so far, so fast, that a pullback wouldn't be surprising.
The Relative Strength Index (RSI), which measures the speed and size of recent price moves, stood at about 73. Readings above 70 are generally treated as overbought. The price was also trading above the upper edge of its Bollinger Bands, another sign it had stretched well beyond its recent range.
Overbought doesn't mean a coin must fall. Strong trends can stay overbought for a while. But it does mean the easy part of the move may already have happened, and late buyers are taking on more risk.
What it means for readers
For anyone following Kaspa, the takeaway is mixed but interesting:
Rallies like this are exciting to watch, but they're also exactly when emotions run highest. Chasing a coin after a 17% day is one of the most common ways traders get caught out. If you're interested in KAS, it's worth looking beyond a single day's chart: at the project itself, at how the price has behaved over months rather than hours, and at how much risk you're comfortable with.
The bottom line
Kaspa's 17% surge on September 26 was one of the standout moves in the altcoin market, and the near-threefold jump in volume shows real conviction behind it. Whether it's the start of something bigger or a peak before a breather is something only the coming days will answer.
